ICA project progress review meeting 8/2013 (27/02/2014)

On 08/09/2013 , ICA project has organized a project progress review workshop in Cua Lo, Nghe An. Participating in the workshop, there are representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Institute of Ecology and biological resources, Center for Environment and Disease Monitoring in Aquaculture (CEDMA), representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh , Nghe An and Hai Phong, experts in remote sensing cartography , GIS specialist economic and socio-economics professionals in aquaculture with the project staff and the master and PhD students.
During the workshop, each research task is presented by the team leader/representatives, covering the following issues:
- Baseline survey of current use of drug, chemical, antibiotic and probiotic in aquaculture in Northern Vietnam.
- Mapping aquaculture in northern Vietnam, GIS modeling to predict the future impacts of climate change to major aquaculture system.
- Determining the climatic factors and parameters affecting water quality in aquaculture .
- Assess the impact participatory ( PRA ) of climate change on aquaculture . Analysis and evaluation of current policies of central and local relevant to climate change adaptation .
- Survey site selection study to initially build a model aquaculture adapt to climate change .
Following by that, the progress of each task is discussed and reviewed. The advantages and difficulties faced during the task implementation also are analyzed as well as to build an efficient coordination between the project staffs and project partners. In addition, the representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology , Department of Agriculture and the provincial representatives , project management and aquaculture experts have comments and suggestion on the approach in order to fulfill the research objectives. 
  In the framework of the conference, the task report are presented with diverse information and multidimensional results , in accordance with the contract and project agreement. Dr. Phan Thi Van, project director requires all the team leaders, project staffs and project partners to complete all the tasks according to the schedule and emphasize the importance of efficient coordination between the parties in order to fulfill the objectives of project.
