The Asian Pacific Aquaculture Conference and Trade Show (APA - 2013) on the theme “Positioning for Profit" takes place in the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) from 10 to 13/12/2013. Co-organizing by the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and the Asian Pacific Chapter of World Aquaculture Society (WAS-APC), APA-2013 is a memorable event especially as it is the second round of WAS-APC conference organized in South East Asia and the first one in Viet Nam since 2009. This event is an opportunity for actors in global aquaculture industry to visit and witness the rapid development of Viet Nam’s aquaculture sector.
In his welcome speech, Minister of MARD, Cao Duc Phat remarked, since 2010, among the world largest aquaculture producers, there are 8 countries and territories from Asia Pacific region. Viet Nam is the fourth largest country in the region and is one of top ten seafood exporters in the world. In recent years, aquaculture, and seafood processing and exports has been a vital industry to Viet Nam.
Attending the workshop, Dr. Phan Thi Van meets and has discussion with experts in aquaculture and food safety in the context of climate change in Vietnam.
