To implement the ICA project activities from 5 to 14 November 2013, Dr. Phan Thi Van (the project director), and Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia (the project research coordinator) visited Faculty of Health and Medical Science, University of Copenhagen to work with the Danish partner team of the project.
Project progress report was presented and discussed in general to update all project activities to project team members that include Dr. Phan Thi Van, Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia, Prof. Ander Dalsgaard, Dr. Jesper Clausen, Dr. Martin Rudbeck Jepsen, Dr. Henry Madsen, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Chi and Ms. Le Minh Hanh.
Important issue is official enrollment for the PhD students came with final agreement that Ms. Le Minh Hanh will enroll in December 2013 to Institute of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, Section of Geography, University of Copenhagen and Ms. Tran Thi Kim Chi will enroll latest beginning of January 2014 to Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Ms. Hanh and Ms. Chi also presented their updated PhD research proposals and received advices and comments from the team.
Project team then discussed on publish results of four studies: GIS mapping and model, Policy recommendation, Fish pathogen and food safety, Demonstration models. Team finally agreed that all can be published to international peer review journals. For the GIS mapping model, change detection maps should be generated to make result more value. Social scientist inputs needed for policy recommendation. Method of fish pathogen and food safety research should be revised and statistical analysis is needed for demonstration model survey data.
Concept for second phase of ICA project was also discussed as the project have only one year to go and possible extension maximum for two more years (mainly for PhD to finish their study). others possible funding have been discussed. New ideas with new possible funding are discussed with concepts involving: 1) Food safety and GIS model, 2) Detail mapping aquaculture areas for fish disease control, 3) Physical, chemical factors impacting bivalve survival, 4) Value change in aquaculture in the context of climate change.
Other activities of the trip were: 1) Listening presentation of Dr. Martin about Fish Disease and Immunology, 2) Listening Dr. Inger Dalsgaard (DTU Aqua) presentation about fish disease, 3) Meeting with Pernille and Bente Ilsøe in DFC to report about project progress and new project possibilities.
The trip ended 15 November 2013 and its purposes have been fulfilled.
